I have been interested in nature for as long as I can remember and started birding at the age of nine. My first encounters with the large animals of our region happened while working in the Limpopo valley in Zimbabwe. I then went on to spend nearly twenty years of my life as a wildlife manager and safari guide based on a large 140,000acre game ranch. During this time my work also took me to Botswana and I got to know the rich wildlife areas of Savuti,Linyanti , Kwando and Panda-ma-tenga intimately. Always interested in photography the advent of digital cameras and image stabilised lenses with the convenience they provide, revitalised this passion. My primary interest is in birds and for the last seven years my aim has been to get good field guide photos of as many species as possible, while along the way taking photos of many other aspects of our natural world. Some years ago I was approached by a publishing house to write my memoirs the result of which was a book called "An African Game Ranger on Safari." I have contributed chapters to several books and magazines and my photographs have been used by others for lectures on wildlife.
