Leigh-Ann lives with her family in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park World Heritage Site in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. She was not formerly trained but has attended art classes with well known artist Olivia Maritz, whose impressionist style has had a great influence on her work. Another artist she absolutely adores is Branko Dimitrov. She draws her inspiration from her surroundings & has enjoyed painting Zulu Nguni Cattle, Buffalo & Lion particularly. "I have always found some wildlife paintings a bit 'kitch', so I like to over or under exaggerate my 'wildlife' paintings through use of color" Her favorite subject however is portraits & capturing expression. "I am constantly banging my head on a brick wall & my style often changes, I get bored easily! I think ultimately I would like to capture the soul of the subject and this is of course it like trying to catch a sparkle of light in a butterfly net! I do not think it is impossible, so I will just keep at it for now!"
